Arissa Utemark


Arissa L. Utemark grew up in a small railroad town named Parsons using writing to escape the hot Kansas sun. She graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor's Degree in Film and a minor in Theatre and is now an award-winning screenwriter and playwright. Her debut novel premiered in 2016.

​A graduate of Ursinus College, where she earned her B.A. in English Literature “...way back when a liberal arts degree was still a valuable commodity.” After graduation, she toured for more than fifteen years with an international Christian repertory theater company, racking up thousands of performances in English, German, and Spanish. The New Jersey native finally stopped traveling and put down roots in the DFW area in 2005. A pastor’s kid twice over, she has written and produced a number of plays and skits for local churches, and had a monologue published in a nationally-distributed magazine in 2012. Her short story "Intentional Consequences" was released in October 2016 in FORBIDDEN RIGHTS, a fantasy anthology published by FWG (available in softcover and ebook), and her novella "Explosions and Fireworks" was published June 2017 in SUMMER FIREWORKS, a collection of clean/inspirational romance novellas published by JaLeNeDo Publishing (available in ebook only).
